Job Description

Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract to hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the Kansas City and St. Louis areas.

We are currently looking for a VP Business Controller to join our team.

  • Finance is responsible for the financial, management, and regulatory reporting for North America (NA).
  • Within Finance, the Business Control / FP&A function plays an integral role with the businesses and support areas serving as an advisor to senior management, liaison and process innovator.
  • FP&A is responsible for strategic decision support, exploring opportunities to improve profitability and return on capital, deliver management reporting & analytics, drive the strategic planning cycle (Plan Do Check Act) and optimizing capital efficiency.
  • Since there are many ways to contribute to successful achievement of strategic goals and improving financial results, the business controller typically is involved in a wide range of activities.
  • A few concrete examples of typical activities include:
  • Using analytics and business intelligence tools (i.e., Power BI), produce insightful dashboards, for example capturing the drivers of loan portfolio dynamics (new business inflow, repayments / outflow, interest margin) and discuss these dashboards with the Rural business teams.
  • Perform a benchmark of the Rural NA business with other similar businesses inside and outside of the company analyze the differences to identify opportunities for Rural NA to learn and improve.
  • Propose a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Rural NA business which are aligned with strategic goals, and discuss and agree these KPIs with the various stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify and explore opportunities for improving profitability and return on capital of the Rural NA business, for example, by participating in strategic projects and strategy review exercises.
  • Deliver high quality Management Information to enable management to steer the business and take optimal decisions. This includes financial and non-financial information, external market intel, etc.
  • Drive the strategic Plan Do Check Act cycle, including Medium Term Plan, budgeting, forecasting

Required Qualifications
  • Ability to think critically and independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Basic knowledge of financial services
  • Accounting/Finance knowledge in financial services context
  • BS - Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or BA in Economics and 7+ years of relevant work experience
