Job Description

Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract to hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the Kansas City and St. Louis areas.

We are currently looking for a Staff Support Technician to join our team.

  • Participate in the installation, repair, and replacement of computer and computer-related hardware.
  • Participate troubleshooting and installation of Windows, Microsoft Office, and other standard software packages.
  • Participate in efforts to develop deployable resolution to company-wide issues.
  • Ensure accurate inventory of devices and their assignment to users through detailed documentation in the ticketing system.
  • Identify potential shortages in computer equipment and accessories and ensure proper ordering of stock. 
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of Audio Visual (AV) related issues, including coordination with AV integration partners on hardware warranty, control system programming, or cabling issues.
  • Provide AV support during presentations and company-sponsored events.
  • Participate in business related activities with staff and management for feedback or user integration. 
  • Make recommendations for process changes to better meet the needs of customers as a result of that feedback.
  • Participate in any IT processes for daily and project-based activities.
  • Provide consistent support for customers in all locations via phone, video, e-mail, and in-person to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate with IT groups or non-IT sources on the final resolution of incidents including escalation and verification of resolution.
  • Coordinate with other IT groups and provide a potential source of assistance for project and daily activities including resolution of incidents assigned to higher tier groups.
  • Identify and document accurate resolution steps for reoccurring issues.
  • Participate in training and education to employees on usage of IT systems.
  • Participate in Problem and Change Management processes as necessary.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A+ and/or Network+ certification a plus. 
  • Self-starter with proactive initiative, excellent follow through on tasks, strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to clearly communicate to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
  • Technical expertise in desktops, workstations, laptops, and other IT peripheral devices required. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.
Physical Requirements
  • Must have the ability to use repetitive hand motion and the ability to grasp and type using general office equipment. 
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time, talk, hear, walk, and stand. 
  • Ability to balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. 
  • Must be able to lift and or move up to 20 pounds.

  • Ability to collect and analyze information to make decisions. 
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and solve problems.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Ability to read.
  • Ability to articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others
  • Ability to work under stressful situations, good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time. 
  • Ability to understand and apply written/verbal instructions.
Schedule: Typical work week is Monday-Friday with some travel required.
