We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team.
Responsibilities
Monitor the general ledger for a portfolio of leased railcars, performing monthly key account reconciliations and analysis.
Complete monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate records.
Post journal entries for various areas, including Cash, Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR), Fixed Assets, Revenue, and Expenses.
Compile and analyze financial information, assist with month-end close activities, and generate lease fleet reports for analysis.
Research, track, and resolve any accounting issues or discrepancies.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany transactions.
Support ad hoc projects and analysis, including audit requests as needed.
Required Qualifications
At least 1-2 years of related accounting experience.
Basic understanding of US GAAP.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like linked spreadsheets, complex formulas, and pivot tables.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams and work independently.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
SAP S/4HANA experience is a bonus!
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Purchase Order, Lease Management (Real Estate), Asset Management, Billing and Accounts Receivable Modules
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field
Knowledge of a relational database like Oracle DB
Understanding of Object-Oriented design principles and patterns
Knowledge of TWS work scheduler or similar work scheduling tools
Experience working with Phire configuration management tool
Experience working in an Agile environment
Experience working with Atlassian tool suite
Accounting background or equivalent work experience
