Project Manager - Operational Development

Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract to hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the St. Louis and Kansas City areas. We are currently seeking a Project Manager, Operational Development to join our team.
Summary
The Project Manager, Operational Development will lead the design and rollout of a standardized operational framework supporting technical and field operations. This role functions as an internal consultant responsible for creating a structured project management model, formalizing processes, and driving efficiency across infrastructure, network operations, and service delivery teams. The position blends hands-on project execution with organizational process development and supports long-term operational scalability.
Responsibilities
• Develop a full operational plan that standardizes workflows, roles, procedures, and resource alignment across technical operations and field support
• Establish a Project Management Office framework including methodology, documentation standards, templates, and governance practices
• Build, map, and document Standard Operating Procedures for operational functions to support consistency and scalability
• Manage project work tied to infrastructure initiatives, network operations, field technician support, and operational readiness activities
• Oversee timelines, budgets, and project reporting while tracking key performance indicators and addressing risks or dependencies
• Coordinate closely with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment, integration, and effective execution of operational initiatives
• Prepare and deliver clear status updates and project reporting to leadership
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline
• 5 or more years of experience in Project Management with emphasis on operational development, process improvement, or PMO creation
• Certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile is strongly preferred
• Experience building operational plans and driving initiatives from planning through full implementation
• Familiarity with technical operations, network environments, or infrastructure-related project work
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Background supporting network operations, infrastructure builds, or field service environments
• Experience with outage response, service delivery, or operational workflow design
• Ability to work across both structured project phases and dynamic operational support activities
Additional Role Insights
• Typical work involves a blend of structured project management and operational activities such as service delivery support, issue response, and process design
• Tools commonly used may include network monitoring systems, operations documentation platforms, and project management or collaboration tools
• The position will interact with technical teams, operations leadership, and field personnel

• Candidates should be comfortable managing both planned project work and unplanned operational events
