We are currently looking for a Sr. Data Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gain an understanding of business and data/reporting needs.
- Work with business teams to understand and translate business requirements into functional specifications and logical & physical data model requirements.
- Create and update data models to support project requirements.
- Build, implement and test data pipelines using SSIS and other data integration tools .
- Collaborate with architect and BI team in the design and building of subject-area specific data marts that supports business analytics needs.
- Take technical ownership of projects and ensure deliverables meet scope, quality and timelines.
- Participate in the assessment of cloud data technologies, and definition of future cloud data architecture through working on proof of concepts.
- Assist with information access and secure management of data.
- Perform optimization of data warehouse queries.
- Manage and optimize daily data warehouse refresh schedules and perform other administrative tasks for efficient operation of the data warehouse.
- Support development of business intelligence reports and dashboards.
- Self-starter with the ability to define clear objectives, collect appropriate information, and develop action plans.
- Observe the highest level of confidentiality and a “data security first” approach to all development activity.

- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required.
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering concepts.
- 5 + years of data engineering experience in SSIS and/or other data integration technologies.
- 3+ years of experience with one or more Power BI, Qlik, Tableau or Looker.
- 3 + years of experience designing and building enterprise BI platforms and solutions.
- 3+ years with building/using cloud data warehouse and data marts.
- Experienced in Microsoft SQL Server - SSIS and SSRS/Power BI Reporting Server.
- Experience with c loud data engineering and data warehouse technologies in Microsoft Azure, Google or AWS.
- Strong technical skills in data engineering, including proficiency in programming languages and technologies such as SQL, Python, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL.
- Experience with data modeling for data warehouse.
- Skilled in Visual Studio with the use of source control applications such as DevOps.
- Experience with CICD.
- Familiarity with data management principles and best practices, including data governance, data quality, and data integration.
- Exceptional analytical and problems solving skills coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Thrives in ambiguous technology situations
Preferred Qualifications
- Financial industry knowledge.
- Development in Agile Frameworks using tools like Azure Dev Ops
