We are currently looking for a Security Engineer to join our team.


Job Summary 
  • Senior-level professional  position, which contributes to the accomplishment of I.S. practices,  and objectives that will achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Works without immediate supervision and direction.
  • Leads and  mentors  others within Infrastructure.
  • Demonstrates advanced working knowledge and concepts of Information Technology. 


Essential Functions  
  • Provides the support, administration, and maintenance necessary to ensure effective and efficient information security. 
  • Identifies, analyzes, and mitigates threats to information technology systems and/or networks. 
  • Conceptualizes, designs, and/or builds secure information technology (IT) systems, with responsibility for aspects of system and/or network development. 
  • Secure implementation of  Internet  facing portals. 
  • Implements ERP/ERM application security, such as  Salesforce. 
  • Performs web application testing for internally  developed applications. 
  • Analyzes packet captures  using tools like Wireshark and  tcpdump. 
  • Performs administration of  Cisco networking appliances  and devices  such as ASA, WLC, SourceFire FirePower  and  appropriate security configurations.
  • Creates and maintains security related  documentation.   
  • Ensure post-deployment monitoring and testing, including JSOX monitoring  and Data Loss Prevention (DLP). 
  • Plan, test, and execute upgrades as necessary  to  Winmagic  encryption,  DLP software, ChangeAuditor monitoring,  Intrust  monitoring, firewalls, URL filtering, and other security related software.
  • Implement  corporate  security policies and procedures. 
  • Install  and manage  security  related software such as Malware Bytes,  Tenable Security Center, and  Winmagic.  
  • Perform administration of  firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and SIEM solutions such as Splunk.  
  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data.  
  • Respond to security incidents  in a timely manner.  
  • Participate  in security audits, risk analysis, vulnerability testing  and security reviews.
  • Determine and assist with  implementation  of job’ s best practices with respect to processes and documentation to best suit the needs.
  • Provide any other functions as directed by Manager.  
  • Assist with  gathering  of  security metric information for presentation to I.S. and executive management.  
  • Adhere to Infrastructure department policies and procedures and assists others in Infrastructure with understanding and adherence to policies. 
  • Effectively communicate status of projects through all phases of work within the particular area of focus. 
  • Responsible to management for on-time delivery of project milestones. 
  • Coach and mentor individuals on  Infrastructure  team and provide feedback of performance to manager/ director. 
  • Keep abreast of industry security trends and developments. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 
  • On-call rotation duties and regular scheduled maintenances. 
  • Participates in 24x7 security monitoring. 


Required Qualifications 
  • A Bachelor’ s  degree (Computer Science, Information Assurance or related field Preferred) 
  • A  Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the area of networking Infrastructure 
  • Possess five or more approved certifications within  job  area. 
  • At least  3 years’ experience in infrastructure or application-level vulnerability testing and  Auditing  
  • At least 3 years of system, network and/or application security experience  
  • A minimum of 5  years  of experience in support and administration of Windows/Linux and Cisco network  equipment 
  • Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in security engineering, system and network security,  authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security  
  • Detailed knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, 
  • Including  penetration testing and the development of exploits 
  • Advanced troubleshooting  skills 
  • Experience installing, monitoring, and maintaining security solutions 
  • Advanced organizational and multitasking capability 
  • Solid grasp of TCP/IP networking and protocols  
  • Excellent written, analytical, problem solving and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities 
  • Ability to work in a team environment  
  • Motivated, self-directed, results-oriented, and customer-focused 
  • Detail oriented and possess a desire for quality   
  • Experience in managing distributed team members 
  • Advanced understanding of hardware and software 
  • P & C Insurance experience  is a plus
