Software Development Engineer in Test
Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract to hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the St. Louis and Kansas City areas.

We are currently seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test to join a client team.
Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases and test frameworks to ensure application quality.

  • Execute automated and manual test suites and analyze results to identify defects and risks prior to release.

  • Perform API testing for SOAP and RESTful services.

  • Develop and execute SQL queries to validate data accuracy and system behavior.

  • Participate in peer reviews of test scripts and testing approaches.

  • Collaborate with architects, analysts, developers, and product owners to derive testing requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Review requirements and technical designs to identify, reproduce, debug, and resolve system issues.

  • Create and maintain test artifacts including test plans, test cases, procedures, and reports.

  • Facilitate test plan and test case reviews with cross functional stakeholders.

  • Support Agile delivery teams in a fast paced, iterative development environment.

  • Estimate testing efforts and manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Utilize scripting and automation tools to streamline testing processes.

  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and documentation.

  • Identify, escalate, and help mitigate risks, recommending preventative measures and solutions.

  • Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and practices.

  • Maintain awareness of emerging trends, tools, and best practices in software testing.
Required Qualifications

  • One to three years of experience in test automation, test tooling, or development or deployment operations.

  • Experience testing APIs, including RESTful and SOAP services.

  • Hands on experience developing automated tests using Java or C# and common testing frameworks.

  • Experience writing and executing SQL queries.

  • Strong understanding of software development principles, testing methodologies, and automation frameworks.

  • Knowledge of relational databases and scripting.

  • Familiarity with object oriented programming concepts.

  • Proficiency with standard productivity tools.

  • Ability to work effectively in cross functional teams.

  • Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative, team oriented approach.

  • Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with modern browser automation tools.

  • Exposure to continuous integration and delivery environments.

  • Demonstrated examples of testing projects, coursework, or personal development work.

  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum based environments.
