We are currently looking for a Technical Support Specialist to join our team.

 

Responsibilities
  • Under moderate supervision, provides procurement and imaging support of desktop computer systems for University staff, faculty and students.
  • Provide technical procurement support for desktop computer hardware and software ordering.
  • Provide daily support for the computing desktop; including operating system, software installation and maintenance, and hardware.
  • Respond to assigned tickets.
  • Evaluate, prioritize, resolve problems and requests, or escalate to appropriate support areas.
  • Act as the front-facing support liaison for all desktop-related support issues.
  • Provide support documentation for Tier 1 Service Desk.
  • Collaborate with higher level technical areas on planning and issue resolution. 
  • Prioritize work load to appropriately respond to customer needs and demands.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and senior technical staff.
  • Complete tasks associated with projects or activities that relate to the desktop support environment, such as system upgrades, system integration and system administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications
  • 2 years desktop support in an enterprise environment. 
  • Heavy customer service experience
  • Ability to maintain accurate equipment logs, preferably asset management experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced, technical environment requiring excellent time management and coordination skills
  • Attention to detail, in a technical environment
  • Excellent prioritization sills are a must
  • Ability to collaborate with customers both in person and in writing
  • Must possess an aptitude for patience, professionalism, tactfulness and empathy.
  • Must be enthusiastic and committed to helping others and exhibit the ability to quickly assess the specific needs of the customer to determine an appropriate course of action.
  • Must be able to quickly defuse  stressful or anxious situations.  


Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in a field of study with desktop support experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience supporting all standard office productivity applications and computing platforms in an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to understand, be accountable, and complete assigned tasks associated with projects.
  • Strong customer service skills, including written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work load to appropriately respond to customer needs and demands.
