We provide a variety of professionals available for contract, contract-to-hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the St. Louis and Kansas City areas.
We are currently looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our team.
Responsibilities
Lead the biweekly payroll process and ensure accuracy and timely completion
Review employee timecards and time off reporting
Allocate payroll expenses across multiple entities in coordination with accounting leadership
Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries and escalate when necessary
Serve as the main point of contact for payroll service requests, with occasional support for HR inquiries
Manage system updates and changes within the payroll platform
Research and implement payroll tax updates as needed
Maintain and update union wages; prepare related reports and manage invoicing and discrepancy resolution
Coordinate wage garnishments and child support orders
Manage year-end reporting and distribution of W-2 forms
Prepare reports for external stakeholders as required (e.g., audits, agencies, etc.)
Assist with annual payroll budgets and forecasts
Support audit processes and answer payroll-related audit questions
Keep up to date with changes in payroll regulations and best practices
Perform additional related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in payroll administration
Familiarity with payroll systems (Paycor preferred)
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Solid customer service and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Outlook, and Adobe
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
Experience working in environments with union payroll
Ability to work with a sense of urgency and manage deadlines
Occasional availability for overtime or travel
