Job Description
Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract to hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the Midwest region. We are currently looking for a Network Engineer (CCNP) – Design and Architecture Focus to join our team.
Responsibilities
Network Architecture and Engineering
• Design, architect, and implement enterprise network solutions across data center, campus, branch, and cloud environments
• Lead network modernization, capacity planning, and lifecycle initiatives
• Define network standards, reference architectures, and best practices
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to performance, scalability, and security
• Identify single points of failure and design resilient, highly available solutions
Implementation and Advanced Engineering
• Lead complex network implementations and major upgrades
• Engineer routing, switching, wireless, security, and SD WAN solutions
• Design and maintain multi site and hybrid network topologies
• Provide technical leadership during major incidents and escalations
• Create and maintain high level and detailed design documentation
Operations and Optimization
• Provide senior level troubleshooting and escalation support for critical network incidents
• Monitor network performance, analyze trends, and implement improvements to enhance reliability and availability
• Develop automation and operational efficiencies where appropriate
• Support IT service management processes and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaboration and Communication
• Partner with security, cloud, and infrastructure teams on enterprise initiatives
• Participate in architecture, strategy, and planning discussions
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
• Support a hybrid work environment and participate in a rotating on call schedule
Required Qualifications
• CCNP Enterprise certification required
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred
• 6 or more years of progressive enterprise networking experience with strong design and architecture expertise
• Advanced hands on experience with enterprise networking technologies and command line configuration
Technical Expertise
• Routing and switching architecture including OSPF, BGP, GLBP, HSRP, QoS, NAT, VRF, PBR, VXLAN, and ACLs
• Enterprise wireless design and 802.1x authentication
• SD WAN architecture and deployment
• Multi data center and hybrid network design
• High availability and disaster recovery networking strategies
• Experience with enterprise switching platforms, wireless controllers, access points, authentication platforms, and network monitoring tools
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience designing secure network architectures aligned with enterprise security standards
• Strong documentation and network diagramming skills
• Experience mentoring or providing technical leadership
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non technical stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives and lead projects to completion
• Experience supporting after hours maintenance and participating in an on call rotation
