Job Description
Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract to hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the Kansas City and St. Louis areas.
We are currently looking for a Network Analyst in our team.
Responsibilities
Installs and maintains network devices, including workstations, servers, LAN/WAN equipment, and network wiring.
Responsible for maintaining a professional relationship with customers regarding the installation and maintenance of their network equipment.
Resolves hardware and software problems dealing with network equipment and vendors.
Troubleshoot and analyze LAN/WAN and software problems dealing with network equipment and software.
Installs, configures, supports, and performs preventative maintenance on customers PCs, laptops, and all other network equipment (i.e., switches, tape drives, NAS devices, etc.) including the possible transferring of devices from one customer site to another as needed.
Installs and maintains infrastructure systems (i.e., email, file/print sharing, anti-virus, backups, etc.)
Manages network/enterprise domains, establishes user accounts, user rights, permissions, and resource sharing.
Maintain and monitor system backups.
Maintains and updates system inventories to reflect any equipment additions, deletions or moves.
Notifies appropriate department of changes.
Perform needs assessment, as needed.
Tests and configures network equipment prior to installation.
Visits customer agencies as needed to conduct preventive maintenance and support on network equipment.
Checks for actual or potential environment hazards to the equipment, documents customer issues regarding equipment performance, and proactively supports the network infrastructure and desktop environment.
Assists the Network Services Managers and staff in evaluating system operational statistics and in line utilization analysis or monitoring.
Creates, maintains, verifies, and shares network related documentation and knowledge with others supporting the company or off-site environments.
Communicates problem resolution results and recommended solutions to the customer.
Maintains current activity updates and documents within the trouble ticketing system and knowledgebase.
Installs data and voice wiring as needed (includes terminating the ends and testing connectivity).
Installs telephones and troubleshooting telephone problems as needed.
Supports wireless LANS as needed.
Safeguards all company and customer information per CJIS, MULES, and guidelines, including but not limited to source code, USB devices, reports, backup tapes, CDs, portable data, etc.
Adheres to all policies and procedures as well as all applicable customer policies and procedures.
Comply with all company and customer safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to receive guidance regarding general work objectives and then determine methods, work sequence, scheduling for most tasks, and projects assigned; operate within specific policy guidelines.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business and/or professional journals or technical procedures.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and vendors.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Have demonstrated intermediate to proficient personal computer skills, including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
Handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
Requires moderate physical activity while performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a technical nature.
Ability to stand, use all limbs effectively, climb, reach, stoop, or kneel on a regular basis.
Ability to lift and/or carry/ and or exert up to 50-75 pounds.
Have sufficient coordination and control to use small tools.
Ability to use step and extension ladders sometimes above ground.
Have sufficient vision to perform light electrical and other technical duties.
Ability to differentiate color codes of wires (telephone, data, fiber, etc.)
Ability to work in an improperly illuminated or awkward and confining workspace.
May require frequent travel between or working at a variety of customer sites throughout the day.
Requires a valid driver’s license and the legally required car insurance.
Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two (2) to five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience and special certifications such as A+, Net + Microsoft certifications.
