We are currently looking for a Linux/Splunk Engineer to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities
As an Engineer 2 you will be responsible for using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve IT business problems.
We are looking for a talented individual that can serve as a subject matter expert in their area of focus and represent the department on complex assignments.
This position involves increasing quality and effectiveness of technology through recommendations based on investigation, research, requirements gathering and testing.
A successful candidate will also be able to interact with customers to provide high quality solutions by interpreting the end-user’ s requirements and using them to develop technical design specifications.
As an Engineer 2, you will be designing, developing, testing and supporting moderate to complex components within Splunk.
Your daily activities may include, but are not limited to, end user support, troubleshooting, upgrades, patches, and dashboard creation.
You will be responsible for the performance and availability of Splunk by monitoring and analyzing the environment and making appropriate recommendations for improvements.
Additional responsibilities include supporting and completing scheduled deployments and participating in the 24x7 on-call rotation for the team’ s production environments.
Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
3+ years’ Linux systems engineering experience
1+ years’ experience with scripting
Strong detail-oriented skills combined with sound problem solving and time management
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven experience working in a fast-paced production environment
Must be able to effectively collaborate and work with others in a remote work environment
Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
Bachelor' s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
Perl and Python scripting experience is preferred
Experience with SIEM and log management platforms, preferably Splunk
Experience engineering and supporting cloud infrastructures such as AWS and Azure
Windows systems engineering experience
Understanding of networking protocols including routing, firewalls and load balancing
Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence a plus
