Job Description

Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract to hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the Kansas City and St. Louis areas.

We are currently looking for a Lead Security Analyst to join our team.


Responsibilities
  • Analyze system and application security to identify vulnerabilities and optimize protection measures for computer systems and information resources.
  • Develop, test, implement, and maintain security policies and programs to support business objectives and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for the security department by applying advanced knowledge of professional concepts and company objectives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in multiple areas of responsibility and represent the team within and outside the department.
  • Focus on both operational and strategic security activities, providing technical expertise to project teams or leading project teams.
  • Work on large, complex assignments with significant autonomy, receiving general guidance on new projects or tasks.
  • Define, develop, communicate, and implement standards, processes, and procedures for the team or department.
  • Monitor key performance metrics to ensure compliance with established security standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Global Cyber Security Monitoring Team to analyze, respond to, and triage security alerts/events, mitigating threats as needed.
  • Utilize security-related tools (e.g., WAF, SIEM, UBA, AV, firewalls) to investigate and remediate security events or incidents.
  • Provide escalation assistance to resolve complex security issues and recommend solutions following established escalation procedures.
  • Assist in monitoring and enforcing security policies and programs, identifying security procedures that support business objectives.
  • Establish, foster, and maintain relationships within the Global Cyber Security team, IT teams, business teams, and vendors.
  • Represent the security team in meetings outside the department, advocating for security initiatives and concerns.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to less senior team members on tasks and assignments and offer direction in leadership absence.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Subject matter expert in multiple areas of responsibility, including monitoring
  • Advanced knowledge of Network Protocols, Packet Captures, Security Controls and Concepts
  • Respond to security incidents regarding malicious attacks, detected anomalies, malware infections, APT activity, unauthorized access, data extraction, etc.
  • Highly proficient in analyzing security events; coordinating response to incidents; driving investigations; providing concise updates and communications to management; creating documentation to increase efficiency of all levels of support in proper response processes; maintaining strict security standards
  • Formal experience in a leadership or mentorship role
  • Strong desire to lead and work in a team environment
  • Displayed team-centric and leadership skills, including leading and facilitating meetings (in-person and/or virtual)
  • Proven track record of developing new processes, and experience with task automation and process improvements
  • Strong documentation, analytical, and reporting skills – ability to present to all levels of staff and leadership
  • Must have a strong solution orientation
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Security-related Certifications (e.g. – CISSP, Security +, CEH, GIAC-certs, security tool certs)
  • Knowledge of Scripting, SIEM, standard ticketing systems, Open Source Security Tools, Web Application Firewalls, PKI, EDR, vulnerability scanning
  • Engineering and project management experience
  • Experience working with cloud solutions and conducting investigations in cloud environments.
