Mid-Level Network Engineer
Device Configuration & Deployment Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract to hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the Midwest region.
We are currently looking for a Mid-Level Network Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities Device Configuration & Staging
Execute base configuration of network devices following established runbooks and templates
Perform device onboarding, policy application, and validation within centralized management platforms
Work across multiple systems to input and manage device-specific configuration data
Build and apply standardized templates across large volumes of devices
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and repeatability across all builds
Process Adherence & Issue Identification
Follow detailed runbooks precisely, ensuring no steps are missed
Identify configuration issues during builds and escalate with clear documentation
Highlight gaps or inconsistencies in processes to support continuous improvement
Coordination & Collaboration
Partner with QA reviewers to validate configurations prior to deployment
Address feedback quickly and accurately to meet deployment timelines
Communicate build status, issues, and completion milestones to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
3–6 years of network engineering experience in deployment, staging, or infrastructure operations
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including:
Circuit connectivity (cellular, DIA, WAN)
Routing and switching concepts
VLANs and network segmentation
Firewall fundamentals and policy structures
Hands-on experience in at least one of the following:
Circuit or WAN deployments
Firewall staging and rollout
Router and switching environments
Experience following detailed technical runbooks in a production environment
Strong attention to detail with a process-driven mindset
Ability to identify issues and communicate them clearly and concisely
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with network platforms such as:
Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiManager)
Juniper switching or access point technologies
Cradlepoint cellular solutions
Experience working in high-volume device staging or deployment environments
Strong documentation habits with clear, actionable note-taking
