Job Description

Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract to hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the Kansas City and St. Louis areas.

We are currently looking for a Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized depth and breadth of systems and network administration functions to multi-site server environment consisting predominantly of on-premise Microsoft and Linux Servers, Active Directory and Exchange, VMware, and Cisco systems products.
  • Ensure the long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning for the organization.
  • Prepare and implement long-term plans for data center expansion to provide disaster recovery and redundancy.
  • Regularly provide advice, best practices, and recommend actions involving complex issues.
  • Work independently with guidance only in very complex situations and be able to guide others.
  • Resolve highly complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Support a change management process from system change requests to final documentation designed to protect assets.
  • Prepare technical reports, reference and user documentation, and as-built and future state documentation (e.g., Visio diagrams of system topology) following management direction.
  • Participate in an end-to-end vision for data management.
  • Pro-actively address issues of system performance.
  • Create and maintain test plans and test reports for network system and application performance.
  • Work with and support the Product Development team. 
  • Review daily IT security reports, ensure staff have security updates deployed, review failed logon attempts, and track down suspicious activity.
  • Assist IT staff with monthly Microsoft updates to corporate and data center assets.
  • Assist IT staff with review assets for COTS updates.
  • Assist IT staff with review of Rubrik backup tasks and ensure daily and weekly backups are fully executed.
  • Assist IT staff with review of SolarWinds and VMware alerts and warnings on data center and corporate network. 
  • Perform reallocation of resources to maintain and upgrade performance.
Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of VMware, vSphere, vCenter, ESXi experience.
  • 3+ years of Cisco HyperFLEX and ACI experience.
  • 3+ years of firewall experience including Cisco FirePower and FirePower Threat Defense (FTD).
  • 3+ years of experience as a network/system administrator in a heterogeneous system and network environment.
  • CCNA or CCNP Data Center or Network Routing and Switching.
  • 3+ years of experience with Windows/Linux/Unix Operating Systems.
  • Microsoft Exchange experience.
  • Demonstrated capability of analyzing, debugging, tracking, fixing, and preventing network security and performance issues.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technical skills and concepts quickly.
  • Comfort and experience with creating detailed technical documentation regarding network architecture, system design, and data management.
  • A willingness to collaborate with other staff and management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and technical partners.
  • CCIE Architecture or Network Routing and Switching.
  • VMware vSphere Certified Professional or similar hands-on experience with deploying and managing VMware vSphere 6.0 and vCenter 6.0 or above.
  • Microsoft Certifications.
  • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting:
    • 802.1Q VLAN trunking.
    • Scalable Layer2 and Layer3 switching.
    • IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
    • IPSEC site-to-site VPNs and DMVPNs.
    • Cisco perimeter edge security on ASA firewalls and routers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with data storage to collaborate with database administrator.
  • Traffic flow analysis experience using Cisco IOS and external 3rd party collectors.
  • Hands-on experience in configuring and monitoring: network equipment, including Cisco WAN. routers, LAN switches, load balancers, SNMP managers, and protocol analyzers.
  • Microsoft Servers in a highly available environment.
