Job Description


Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract-to-hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the St. Louis and Kansas City areas.

We are currently looking for a Data Engineer to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering

  • Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines within modern data platforms.

  • Ingest, transform, and curate data from multiple source systems (ERP, HRIS, CRM, APIs, etc.).

  • Optimize data storage and performance in large-scale data environments.

  • Apply data modeling practices (star schema, Data Vault, dimensional modeling).

  • Ensure seamless data integration with reporting and analytics tools.

Data Analysis

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools for real-time analytics.

  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.

  • Translate business requirements into analytical datasets and actionable insights.

  • Provide ad-hoc analysis to support operations, finance, HR, and other business areas.

Governance & Quality

  • Apply data governance principles within enterprise data ecosystems.

  • Establish and monitor data quality metrics for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.

  • Implement security, access, and role-based permissions for governed environments.

  • Document pipelines, transformations, and models for transparency and reuse.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs and analytics use cases.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements.

  • Provide guidance and training to analysts and business users adopting new tools.

  • Support migration from legacy data warehouse or ETL systems into modern platforms.
Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise data platforms, including data pipelines, data lakes, and BI integration.

  • Strong SQL skills for data modeling, transformations, and optimization.

  • Proficiency with DAX, Power Query (M), and BI reporting tools.

  • Familiarity with Python or PySpark for advanced data engineering.

  • Knowledge of APIs and event-based data ingestion.

  • Strong understanding of data modeling techniques (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault).

  • Experience designing semantic models for analytics.

  • Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance practices.
Preferred Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.

  • 2–4 years of experience in data engineering and/or analytics.

  • Experience supporting cross-functional business domains.
