Job Description
Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology and professional services personnel. We provide a variety of professionals available for contract, contract to hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the St. Louis and Kansas City Areas, as well as some remote opportunities.
We are currently looking for a Database Engineer/ Administrator to join the team.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and tune query performance.
- Analyze and design schemas, indexes, and statistics.
- Collaborate with application developers on database object development and performance tuning.
- Work on database development projects as part of the product development team.
- Work on database disaster recovery processes.
- Troubleshoot internal and external customer systems.
- Develop and implement automation and tools to improve diagnostics and administration processes.
- Keep up to date on SQL Server technology and trends to keep products up to date.
- Keep up to date on current security concerns relevant to SQL Server and systems
- Participate in on-call support rotation for database-related issues escalated from other departments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of work and experience.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Experience with disaster recovery processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of basic Windows Server administration preferred.
- Knowledge of PowerShell, dbatools.io, and other scripting languages is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrate strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Able to work independently or within a technical team of varying skill levels.
- Ability to multitask and shift priorities as production and development needs change.
