Job Description

Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract to hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the Kansas City and St. Louis areas.

We are currently looking for a Business Analyst to join our team.


Responsibilities
  • Responsible for building and maintaining a strong business-IT relationship with a key stakeholders and leaders to enable open communication and clear expectations regarding application development delivery.
  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and ensure prioritization and alignment to business strategic objectives.
  • Act as a point of escalation on active initiatives.
  • Planning
    • Prepares business cases working with business partners.
    • Collaborates heavily with Program Managers to initiate large projects, including resource planning, estimation, governance, approval, and kickoff.
    • Contribute to the approach for requirements elicitation and methods for requirements management and communication.
    • Ensures business opportunities and objectives are clearly articulated.
    • Performs feasibility analysis as required for projects.
    • Analysis, Design, Execution
    • Assists with process improvement and/or reengineering.
    • Performs requirements elicitation, using techniques per plan.
    • Document requirements establishes scope and objectives.
    • Prioritizes requirements working with business partners and creates conceptual prototypes and mock-ups.
    • Uses business process modeling, traceability and quality management techniques per methodology.
    • Performs requirements management and communication; apply best practices for effective communication and problem-solving.
    • Complies with Change Management practices
  • Leadership
    • Will take on assignments for large projects, and others as assigned.
    • Monitors the technical team solution to ensure requirements fulfillment and solution evaluation.
    • In conjunction with Program Manager and business partners, manages strategy, approach and needs of incoming projects within function.
    • Leads and coordinates activities associated with requirements management vehicles.
    • Provides coaching to other BAs assigned to projects to successfully accomplish objectives.
  • Measurement
    • Performs and documents quality assurance testing
    • Facilitates and documents end user acceptance testing
    • Accountable for Service Level Agreements
    • Reviews and monitors the effectiveness of business analysis via outcomes and lessons learned.
    • Provides status reports and health metrics to Program Manager on a regular basis.

Required Qualifications
  • Business education
  • Experience with ITIL framework and IT product methodologies
  • Familiarity with testing techniques and software
  • Business acumen coupled with technical aptitude
  • Experience working on technology and application development projects including developing technical requirements
  • Strong data analysis skills, experienced in SQL and Excel
  • Strong listening skills
  • Strong research skills with attention to detail
  • Experience developing functional and non-functional requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills; consultative approach
  • Ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis and business case development
  • Recognized within the organization as demonstrating expertise in business analysis methods and techniques
  • Experience working closely with team members during solution development and product launch
  • Experience developing use cases
  • Experience developing data and/or process flows
  • Must be able to work independently and proactively
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and independent problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated successful performance with giving presentations to both small and large audiences, and coordinating and completing multiple tasks within established and changing deadlines
  • Ability to contribute and collaborate effectively as a member of a highly-functioning and productive team
  • Demonstrated understanding of client relationship management, process mapping and improvement, project management, and production support
  • Proven ability to provide business analysis to meet customer expectations
  • Demonstrated understanding of business analyst tools and techniques; demonstrated proficiency using MS Office and Visio.
