Job Description

We are currently looking for a BI Report Writer to join our team.


  • Responsible for creating Business Intelligence reports based on the needs of end users.
  • Requires knowledge of SQL programming.
  • Assist in training users on reporting tools and analysis of data.
  • Protect the information assets of the company against unauthorized alteration and/or disclosure by appropriately handling and transmitting information in accordance with company policies.
  • Develops, maintains and participates in the support of BI Reports and BI Dashboards
  • Performs trouble-shooting and analysis for technical problems with the BI databases and reports.
  • Work with users to determine specific software application and data requirements.
  • Works with users to refine report requirements
  • Prepares and presents written reports and oral presentations, following research and evaluation.
  • Performs related duties as needed or assigned.
  • Works with users as needed to assist in the extraction of data across all platforms to provide the users with the necessary information they need for their reports. 
  • This extraction can be in the form of a report tool, excel or any other means that the user requests.
  • Document tables, relationships, schemas to provide users with a clearer understanding of the relationships and how to extract the information they need.


Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’ s degree or Associate degree in I.T. related field.    
  • A minimum of 1 year of working experience in I.S. or related field.
  • Possess one or more approved Certifications within job area.
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence suite of tools including but not limited to SQL Server, MS Report Server, Business Intelligence Dashboard Development, Java, XML and Crystal Reports is preferred. 
  • Candidate should have training in Business Intelligence Report and Dashboard Development & Administration.
  • Experience in the Insurance industry is a plus.
  • Experience in managing multiple databases.
  • Familiarity with distributed and centralized on-line databases.
  • Must be proficient in verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Good problem determination and resolution skills.
  • Ability to prepare and present oral and written reports, presentations, and recommendations and to perform necessary research or investigations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with users having a wide variety of backgrounds and skills from the novice user to the expert programmer.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to evaluate and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
  • Excellent work history and attendance record.
