Job Description

Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract-to-hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the Kansas City and St. Louis areas.

We are currently looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team.

  • Oversee various accounting functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency within the organization.
  • Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including AIA billing, and customer credit and collection management.
  • Manage sales tax functions to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Lead the monthly closing process and monitor overhead expenses for accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee benefits administration processes to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assess current practices and procedures, and develop recommendations for improvements, including the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist with the implementation of a new ERP system and provide training to staff members.
  • Prepare and review monthly Work in Progress (WIP) reports for accurate job costing.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
  • Develop staff members by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and fostering strong employee relationships.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with some experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Knowledge and experience in construction accounting are preferred, with expertise in doors and hardware considered a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership skills with a commitment to driving and achieving results.
  • Knowledge of employee relationship-building and performance management techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office 365, and QuickBooks. Experience with other financial systems is required.
