Job Description


Adaptive Solutions Group is a premier provider of information technology personnel. We provide a variety of technical professionals available for contract, contract to hire, or direct placement positions to companies in and around the Kansas City and St. Louis areas.

We are currently looking for an Audit Manager to join our team.


Responsibilities
  • Assume full responsibility for planning, supervising, and managing all phases of the firm’s regular services for clients
  • Lead the decision-making process for assigned engagements and clients; keep the engagement Partner fully informed of significant decisions, engagement process, the client’s situation, and potential concerns
  • Develop a responsible and trained team through assistance in recruiting, planning assignments, resolving problems, providing direct consultation to staff, evaluating staff performance, and acting as a discussion leader in professional development programs
  • Evaluate internal controls and prepare and communicate recommendations
  • Review attestation workpapers in sufficient detail and provide feedback to staff
  • Follow engagement process through monitoring time budgets and deadlines, communicate essential developments to the engagement Partner along with facts, conclusions, and recommendations, and providing ongoing attention to client management

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related degree, accounting preferred
  • CPA required
  • Personnel management experience required
  • Public accounting experience
  • 7+ years of audit experience preferred
  • Experience with tax preparation and review services is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong client service skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Detail-oriented; strong planning and organization skills; ability to make decisions
  • Ability to multitask and handle several engagements at a time
  • Resourceful in recognizing technical problems and developing solutions
  • Awareness of current developments affecting area of expertise
  • Advanced technical knowledge of audit, accounting, and other relevant concepts
  • Experience with financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilations
  • Knowledge of FASB standards, GAAP, and GAAS

Job Description:
Walk me through a typical day?

Leading an Audit team of 5-6 individuals through a busy seasons of Audit. Assume full responsibility for planning, supervising, and managing all phases of the firm’s regular services for clients. Lead the decision-making process for assigned engagements and clients; keep the engagement Partner fully informed of significant decisions, engagement process, the client’s situation, and potential concerns. 
  • Tools & Technology used? CCH Pro (would be a plus), Microsoft                                                     
  • Team Size & Structure?  3-5 Team members under this manager at a time.  
                                                                            
     
    Project Details:
  • Why is the position open? This department did a reconfiguration and this is an additional headcount need. In addition they had to let go a Audit Manager that was hired in because they were not the right fit for the role. This is why there are 2 openings. 
  • Typical Work Week (Hours, Shifts, Flex Time, Work from home etc.)? Monday- Friday 8-5.
  • First 6 months 100% onsite/ After 6 months 2 day remote 
Any OT expected / required? Yes durning busy seasons    
                                   
  • Any Travel? No                                     
  • Dress Code / Attire?   Business Casual 
 
Interview Process:
  • How many steps to the process?  3 Interviews - First step is to take the 16pf personal assessment test. This will be followed up with an in person interview with 2 partners. In addition they may be asked to meet with another partner and a principal.  (9 partners total at this firm)
                                       
  • How long has the job been open? 2 weeks 
                                     
  • Have you done any other interviews? Yes, currently interviewing two people to go through the first round interview
                                    
  • Where have other candidates fallen short? Not having the public accounting experience and not wanting to obtain CPA if they do not already have it. 
  • If I showed you a resume today, how quickly could you speak with them? Very quickly
                        
  • If the interview goes well, how quickly can you hire & onboard them? They will be ready to onboard as soon as candidate is selected.

                     
 
Other criteria:
  • Certifications/Clearances (Government): CPA 
                                   
  • Degree or Education:  Bachelors 
                                    
  • Are there any specific companies the candidates should have experience from?  Public Accounting 

 
100-130K - 10% annual bonus on salary
